Location and Attractions

Bike Park Wales drop off is on the hill behind us – driving there takes 15 minutes. Zip World Tower is also 15 minutes drive. Fresh water fishing is available locally on Nant Moel and Meardy reservoirs, and golf at nearby Aberdare Golf Club. Pen y Fan is the highest peak in southern Britain and the pot holes and waterfalls of the Brecon Beacons are equally spectacular. Railway enthusiasts must visit the narrow gauge Brecon Mountain Railway. The coal mining heritage of the South Wales Valleys is preserved at Big Pit, Blaenavon which is about 30 minutes away.

The Locality and Environment

Directly behind the farm is a huge area of designated open countryside and Gethin Woods with a network of footpaths, bridleways & mountain bike trails. Horse riding is a popular activity in the area. There is a locking bike store which is used for cycles and other outdoor equipment and we will shortly be installing a bike & dog wash.

From the bottom of our drive, without setting foot on the public highway, the old railway walk  starts. A mile through the woods brings you to the Rhoswenallt Inn, Abernant, where you can enjoy a pint and home cooked food (with your dog)

A laundry is available for washing and drying muddy clothes and equipment. The flagstone floors and floorboards are warmed and we have eco-friendly traditional log fires (except Gwyn)
